Karaoke songs like mike buble3/9/2024 ![]() I can't stand listening to him sing to a Nelson Riddle arrangement that wasn't written for him. His modern pop songs are pretty solid and enjoyable. ![]() His problem is that he still doesn't know what that means yet. Who the hell wants to be the "next" Sinatra when you can be the first Michael Buble? I admire him for not wanting to simply be pegged down as the "next" Sinatra. It's not Frank, but why should he want to be Sinatra? For example: "Always On Mind Mind." A beautiful, heartfelt performance that shows the potential he has. The same can be said of "All I Do Is Dream Of You," the Arthur Freed-Nacho Herb Brown tune bouncy, exuberant, enjoyable.Īnd then Buble wil do something incredible on occasion: take a song not usually identified with the GAS and making it belong. I still feel that Buble's cover of Harry Warren's "The More I See You," (one of the true masterpieces of its time) is definitive. He's also very good at tackling songs from The Great American Songbook that remained untouched by Sinatra. ![]() He also does a pretty good cover of "That's Life," for that matter. Buble's cover of "I've Got The World On A String," is energetic, fun, taken at the same key as Sinatra yet with a slightly slower tempo and a killer sax solo. ![]() Click to expand. You know, for every terrible Sinatra or Bobby Darin related arrangement that Buble sanduskys (too soon?), he manages to take a song related to them and get a new, very well written chart out there. ![]()
